Prevalence of overweight and obesity in a Portuguese sample of adults: results from the Azorean physical activity and health study

Article Abstract:

Portuguese adults were assessed to determine the incidence of overweight and obesity through an Azorean physical activity and health study based on a questionnaire. Results showed that overall the socio-economic conditions were directly related to overweight and obesity among the Azoreans.

Relative leg length as a biological marker to trace the developmental history of individuals and populations: growth delay and increased body fat

Article Abstract:

A study to determine if differences in leg length index are related to difference in body fat is presented. Result showed a low length index is associated with significantly greater amount of body weight in all adults, males, females, and children.
