Redox rhythmicity: Clocks at the core of temporal coherence

Article Abstract:

The analysis reveals the presence of a forty-minute clock in yeasts and protists, which is found to have a redox cycle at its core of temporal coherence. The findings show that the ultradin rhythms act as the foundation of the coherent controlling the functioning of the organisms, as they are underpinned by this clock providing an archetype for biological time keeping.

Size and shape: the developmental regulation of static allometry in insects

Article Abstract:

Recent advances in the fields of growth regulation and endocrinology are reviewed and are used to construct a developmental model of static allometry expression in insects. The understanding of body shape and size is in insect growth is of enormous interest to biologists and this new model will help in deeper understanding of the relationship between growth and form.
