Article Abstract:

A new radio frequency identification (RFID) application is being developed by an agricultural engineer, George Vellidis at the University of Georgia in Tifton, to measure the moisture level in the soil and decide on the right time to water the soil. The RFID application gathers and broadcast the data every five minutes and growers can download the compiled information and figure out the right time for irrigation from the graphical representations.
