Mapping tumor-suppressor genes with multipoint statistics from copy-number-variation data

Article Abstract:

An algorithm that estimates the location of tumor-suppressor genes (TSGs) is proposed by analyzing segmental deletions in the genomes of patients with cancer and spatial relation of the deleted segments to any specific genomic interval. It is discussed how, with suitable modifications to the underlying modifications to the underlying statistical model, this algorithm could be applied generally to a wider class of problems.

Variance calculations for identity-by-descent estimation

Article Abstract:

Nonparametric linkage strategies often involve estimation of identity by descent (IBD) with the use of affected sibling pairs. Methods for IBD estimation are well established and are successful for mapping complex traits.

Genomewide weighted hypothesis testing in family-based association studies, with an application to a 100k scan

Article Abstract:

A novel two-stage strategy that weighs the association p values with the use of independently estimated weights is proposed and concluded that this strategy helps in genomewide association studies.
