Article Abstract:
Amplified Ribosomal DNA (rDNA) restriction analysis and rDNA sequencing was used for identifying the cultivable bacterial community of maple sap coming out of the taphole. The results derived from the study provide information on the maple sap microflora, which will assist in investigations concerning microbial contamination and quality of maple products and guide in the development of new strategies related to taphole contamination control.

Article Abstract:
The bacterial community composition is determined by using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) analysis of PCR-amplified portions of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene from a total of 98 stations on the Danube River and its major tributaries. The results have shown that the riverine bacterial community is largely affected by intrinsic factors.

Article Abstract:
IncP-1beta plasmid encoding gene product is isolated from the bacterial community from a wastewater treatment plant harboring a triphenylmethane reductase gene. IncP-1 plasmid confers resistance to the triphenylmethane dye and enables its host bacterium to decolorize the dye.
