Evaluation of Wzz/MPA1/MPA2 proteins based on the presence of coiled-coil regions

Article Abstract:

This article describes cytoplasmic Membrane Periplasmic Auxiliary (MPA) proteins of the family of Wzz proteins involved in the biosynthesis of lipopolysaccharide and related polysaccharides. Authors propose the name 'Polysaccharide Co-Polymerase(s) for MPA proteins to reflect their roles in polymerization and modal chain length determination of the respective polysaccharides.

Novel roles of sigma(sup)N in small genomes

Article Abstract:

Results show that bacterial genome sigma(sup)N RNA polymerase is distributed throughout the bacterial population and allow bacteria to respond to environmental cues by controlling gene expression. Data indicate that sigma(sup)N along with other sigma factors is involved in global gene regulation in bacteria.

Identification of potential sigma (super)N -depenedent promoters in bacterial genomes

Article Abstract:

The authors comment on the study of sigma (super)N -depenedent promoters in bacterial genomes. The topics of interest include the use of sigma (super)N in operon regulation involved in flagellar synthesis and tools developed for scanning microbial genome data for identification of sigma (super)N-binding sites.
