Article Abstract:
The newly identified species-specific antigens of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae using SDS-PAGE ELISA profiling technique (PPP) was investigated. This method was developed to rapidly identify species-specific and cross-reactive antigens among the three mycoplasma species and to quantify the immunoreactive responses against the spectrum of mycoplasmal proteins. Different strains of mycoplasma were compared and one strain was found to produce a unique protein profile and was poorly immunoreactive.

Article Abstract:
An experiment was performed to clone, sequence and characterize the gene that encodes the ciliary adhesin from the avirulent strain of the pathogen Myclopasma hyopneumoniae J. Differences in the gene sequence of the pathogen's strains were also identified. Results indicated the accessibility of the 94 kDa antigen. Moreover, ciliary binding may be influenced by the number of amino acid repeats in RR1.

Article Abstract:
Adaptive immune responses in mice against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae are discussed with emphasis on adjuvant contribution. Mice are susceptible to A. pleuropneumoniae infection, a quality makes investigation of adjuvant-mediated differences in adaptive responses against outer-membrane proteins (OMP) at the serololgical level possible, as is extension to look at responses to live infection.
