Article Abstract:
Mapping the Bacillus subtilis shows that all of its rrn openons have an I-CeuI site, thus allowing the exact mapping of the rrn genes on a NotI-SfiI physical map. The mapping project also demonstrates I-CeuI sites to be inheritable. I-CeuI now joings the group of useful tools for Bacillus subtilis genome analysis. Variations in size of the I-Ceu1 sites in the rrn operons of the Bacillus subtilis (Bs) are due to genome alterations.

Article Abstract:
Five rRNA operons exist in the genome of Brevibacterium lactofermentum ATCC 13869 and Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13032. DSM 20412 was found to be different from the other corynebacteria tested in showing six hybridizing BamHI bands. Two of the rrn operons, rrnD and rrnE, were found in a single cosmid. Sequencing of the rrn operon revealed that it consists of a complete 16S rRNA-23S RNA-5S rRNA gene cluster.

Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the sef gene from Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis. The dissecting the sef operon, utilizing genomics and genetics in defining and inactivating the genes have been carried out and investigated.
