Article Abstract:
Presence of hypostatic modifiers for copper tolerance in Mimulus guttatus, monkey flower, is discussed. Two selection lines that differ in tolerance and thus in the presence of putative modifiers were crossed to a single nontolerant (NT) plant because it is necessary to show that NT plants crossed to a constant tolerant plant differ in ability to enhance tolerance of the cross progeny in a reproducible way.

Article Abstract:
Lack of genetic diversity in pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) biotypes is discussed relative to different plant affiliation. The aphid, restricted to legumes and having three biotypes in Europe, was investigated by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis of three genomes inherited maternally.

Article Abstract:
Discrimination of UK cattle breeds through use of genetic markers, comparing diallelic and microsatellite markers, is discussed. Discriminating among pure breeds and crossbreeds required approximately three times the number of markers needed for pure breeds.
