Frequency of deviation from the ideal male or female may occur in as many as 2% of live births, although "corrective" genital surgery of intersexual infants is performed in about 0.1-0.2% of live births, according to a survey of medical literature. Topics discussed include "sex" chromosome composition, androgen insensitivity in XY individuals, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, vaginal and penile agenesis, hormone-producing tumors and exogenous sex hormones, true hermaphrodites and idiopathic mixed genitalia.

An analysis of the contribution of consanguineous marriages corresponding to uncle-niece or aunt-nephew is discussed from a sample of Spanish areas and periods. It was observed that consanguineous relationship conditions the inbreeding coefficient the most.

Study is conducted to investigate the two assumptions used in new method of estimating inbreeding in large, relatively isolated populations. It concludes that these two assumptions can be taken into account if and when required.
