Hop: More than an Hsp70/Hsp90 adaptor protein

Article Abstract:

Molecular chaperones facilitates the correct folding of other proteins under physiological and stress conditions and it is evident that various co-chaperone proteins regulate the cellular functions of the chaperonesand particularly Hsp70 and Hsp90. The current dogma proposes that Hop functions primarily as an adaptor that directs Hsp90 to Hsp70-client protein complexes in the cytoplasm.

LIMK1 and CLIP-115: linking cytoskeletal defects to Williams syndrome

Article Abstract:

The findings of the presence of neurological and behavioral phenotypes in Lim Kinase 1(LIMK) and cytoplasmic linker protein of 115 kDa (CLIP-115) are discussed. The properties of LIMK and CLIP family proteins, their functions and their relationship with neurodevelopment aspects of Williams Syndrome are described.

PAD, a growing family of citrullinating enzymes: genes, features and involvement in disease

Article Abstract:

The effects of citrullination and its involvement in several human diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis is discussed. Peptidylarginine deiminase (PAD, EC 3.5.3.15) enzymes catalyze the conversion of arginine residues to citrulline residues in proteins.
