Homogeneous expression of the P (sub)BAD promoter in Escherichia coli by constitutive expression of the low-affinity high-capacity AraE transporter

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the expression systems developed to regulate genes under control of the arabinose-induced araBAD promoter (P (sub)BAD). Results indicate that the expression of araE from the different strength promoters on the medium-copy plasmids or on the chromosome allows homogeneous expression from P (sub)BAD.

Glucose-6-phosphate-dependent phosphoryl flow through the Uhp two-component regulatory system

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the UhpT sugar-phosphate transporter expression in Escherichia coli. Results indicate the glucose-6-phosphate-induced signal transfer through the UphBC complex in the in vitro system which causes UhpB autophosphorylation and phosphoryl transfer to UhpA.

Deletion of one of two Escherichia coli genes encoding putative Na (super)+ /H (super)+ exchangers (ycgO) perturbs cytoplasmic alkali cation balance at low osmolarity

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the genes in the Escgerichia coli genome similar to the genes encoding eukaryotic Na (super)+ /H (super)+ exchangers. The role of these E. coli genes in bacterial physiology has been investigated and the results are discussed.
