Article Abstract:
Historical bottlenecks have been found to lower genetic diversity in natural Dryopteris cristata populations. The study showed the importance of population history in understanding present genetic diversity in such populations. The organism is a long-lived allotetraploid fern that is rare and endangered in the southwestern border of its European distribution.

Article Abstract:
The two central repeat units in wild African cheetahs show homogenization that may have come from convergent evolution. Of the mitochondrial control region 525 bp were sequenced and analyzed for 20 Acinonyx jubatus and one domestic cat. The sequences were compared with published sequences from another domestic cat, 20 ocelots and 11 margays.

Article Abstract:
Genetic variation in growth performance on normal and novel host plants has been compared for a local population of a herbivorous ladybird beetle. Values give an upper limit of variation, but the amount of additive genetic variation is yet to be evaluated.
