Article Abstract:
This article discusses the need to have hypotheses and accompanying data in scientific discovery as data- and technology-driven programmes are complementary and iterative part to the hypotheses. Research shows that computational methods used for data analysis can also generate novel hypotheses. The implication of this approach in the post-genomic era research is discussed.
