Helicobacter pylori EstV: identification, cloning, and characterization of the first lipase isolated from an epsilon-proteobacterium

Article Abstract:

The isolation, cloning and purification of EstV, a novel lipolytic enzyme encoded by open reading frame HP0739 of Helicobacter pylori 26695, are described. This unique enzyme is the first lipase isolated from Helicobacter pylori, which might contribute to ulcer development, and it is also the first lipase from an epsilon-proteobacterium to be described.

Environmental isolates of Aeromonas spp. harboring the cagA-like gene of Helicobacter pylori

Article Abstract:

Research shows that cagA-like gene of Helicobacter pylori occurs in environmental isolates of Aeromonas Spp. as determined by colony hybridization employing a cagA-specific DNA probe. Nuclear sequences of the polymerase chain reaction products indicate a 97-98% homology to canonical cagA of H. pylori 26695.

Expanding the Helicobacter pylori genetic toolbox: modification of an endogenous plasmid for use as a transcriptional reporter and complementation vector

Article Abstract:

The potential application of modified endogenous Helicobacter pylori plasmid as a transcriptional reporter and a complementary vector is explored. pTM117 is found to be a molecular tool for genetic analysis of Helicobacter pylori.
