Height, weight, and body mass index among Akwesasne Mohawk youth

Article Abstract:

The basic anthropometric characteristics of Mohawk youth between the ages 10.0 and 16.99 years from the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation are described. Mean height of Akwesasne Mohawk youth approximates the 50th percentile of reference values as determined by the 2000 Center for Disease Control and Prevention growth charts.

Selected anthropometric measurements of akwesasne Mohawk youth: Skinfolds, circumference, and breadths

Article Abstract:

The skinfolds, circumferences and body breadths are used to assess the body size and shape of Akwesasne Mohawk youth between the ages of 10.0 and 16.99. It is found that Akwesasne youth have thicker skinfolds and larger circumferences than youth in the national surveys.
