Heat shock response and groEL sequence of Bartonella henselae and Bartonella quintana

Article Abstract:

Research shows that the maximum heat shock response of organisms Bartonella henselae and Bartonella quintana occurs at 39 and 42 degrees centigrade. Gel electrophoresis and fluorography research using [35S]methionine identifies three very similar major heat shock proteins in B. quintana and B. henselae at 70, 60 and 10 kDa. groEL gene analysis identifies some of the same amino acid sequences found in other Gram-negative alpha-purple bacteria.

Developmental cheating and the evolutionary biology of Dictyostelium and Myxococcus

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the life styles of bacteria Dictyostelium discoideum and Myxococcus xanthus. Results indicate that these bacteria have the problem of parasitism by their own cells.
