Characterization of a foldase, protein disulfide isomerase A, in the protein secretory pathway of Aspergillus niger

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that pdiA gene product from Aspergillus niger exhibits protein disulfide isomerase activity and plays a role in the folding and secretion of proteins. Data also point out that it functions as a foldase involved in the formation or breakage of disulfide bonds.

Glucoamylase::green fluorescent protein fusions to monitor protein secretion in Aspergillus niger

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the glucoamylase::green fluorescent protein fusion. The use of the green fluorescent protein as a protein secretion in vivo reporter in Aspergillus niger is described.

HacA-independent induction of chaperone-encoding gene bipA in Aspergillus niger strains overproducing membrane proteins

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on the transcription of two unfolded protein response genes, hacA and bipA, in Aspergillus niger strains overproducing membrane proteins. It was observed that the possibility of a hacA-independent induction of bipA mRNA was raising under the stress of membrane protein overproduction in A. niger.
