Article Abstract:
A genetic 'knock-in' strategy is used to demonstrate that targeted replacement of the oxygen-regulated transcription factor HIF-1alpha with HIF-alpha2 results in expanded expression of HIF-2alpha-specific target genes, including Oct-4. Results identify Oct-4 as a HIF-2alpha-specific target gene and indicate that HIF-2alpha can regulate stem cell function and/or differentiation through activation of Oct-4, which in turn contributes to HIF-2alpha's tumor promoting activity.

Article Abstract:
Several studies reveal that mice with p53 activation through murine double-minute gene2 (Mdm2) inhibition significantly suppress tumor formation without negative consequences of accelerated aging. It is reported that mice with decreased levels of Mdm2 are resistant to tumor formation, which does not affect premature ageing among the mice.

Article Abstract:
A study was undertaken to observe the Notch pathway that is a regulator of cell features in metazoan organisms. Results showed that the Notch pathway Delta-like 4 were important in human pathological conditions and might be useful in cancer treatment.
