Article Abstract:
Gustave Malecot was one of the most important figures in 20th century science. Together with Sewall Wright, R.A. Fisher and J.B.S. Haldane, Malecot helped shape the evolving field of population genetics. In the course of a long and brilliant career as one of genetics' leading theorists, Malecot earned a deserved reputation as its most influential mathematician. Among other things, Malecot is remembered as the man who first formulated models of population genetics as stochastic processes. Born in 1911, Malecot passed away in Nov 1998.

Article Abstract:
Stochastic space-time models known as space-time autoregressive (STAR) models were used to analyze the complete space-time correlation structure of migration drift systems. The STAR models provided a framework for characterizing, predicting and comparing space-time theoretical distributions of gene frequencies. Moreover, pattern of migration and estimation of migration rates in experimental studies of genetic variation over space and time were also determined.

Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze triglyceride and apolipoprotein B (apoB) levels by examining St Thomas Hospital rabbits. These rabbits have been shown to have hypertriglyceridemia with dyslipoproteinema syndromes. Thus, they may be useful in studying such syndromes in humans. Results show that adjusted residual apoB levels indicated evidence of a second locus which influences mean apoB levels in the rabbit colony.
