Article Abstract:
Genogroup I nonviruses from five genetic clusters and geogroup II nonviruses from eight genetic clusters are detected in stool extracts with the help of degenerate primers and single-tube, real-time reverse transcription-PCR with SYBR Green detection. The technique provides a framework for broad application of real-time RT-PCR in clinical, environmental and food testing laboratories for a wide range of noroviruses.

Article Abstract:
The designed and validated assay were used to determine the amounts of different Lactobacillus species in fecal samples of infants receiving a standard formula supplemented with galacto- and fructo-oligosaccharides in a 9:1 ratio. The Lactobacillus species distribution in the OSF group is comparable to breast-fed infants, with relatively high levels of L. acidophilus, L. paracasei, and L. casei.

Article Abstract:
Real-time PCR, or quantitative PCR (QPCR) is developed to rapidly detect and quantify the total number of yeasts in wine without culturing. RT-QPCR can serve as a rapid and accurate technique for enumerating yeasts during industrial wine fermentation and controlling the risk of wine spoilage.
