Article Abstract:
Genetic variation of morphological traits in Drosophila melanogaster was studied. Heritabilities and genetic and phenotypic variances were in general higher in an isofemale line design than in a offspring-parent regression design with both standard and substandard nutrition. Wing length showed lower heritability under poor nutrition. Heritabilities of sternopleural bristle number and thorax length, however, did not differ in the two regimes.

Article Abstract:
Misidentified paternity and maternal effects have been studied relative to heritability of morphological traits in Darwin's Finches. To find parentage, data from eight microsatellite loci were used. Grandparent-offspring regressions evidence maternal effects, comparable in size to those seen in other wild bird studies.

Article Abstract:
Heritability of sperm length and its relationship to artificial selection have been studied in the cricket Gryllus imaculatus. It was found that sex-linkage of sperm size in the species, it it were to occur, would be limited to the X chromosome.
