Genetic variation among Staphylococcus aureus strains from Norwegian bulk milk
Article Abstract:
The genotype variation among isolates of Staphylococcus aureus from Norwegian bovine and caprine bulk milk is investigated and compared with S. aureus strains from raw-milk products. Phylogenetic analyses has agreed with the division of multilocus sequence typing (MLST) sequence types into clonal complexes, and isolates within the same clonal complex had the same staphylococcal enterotoxins (SE) gene profile.

Variable expressions of Staphylococcus aureus bicomponent leucotoxins semiquantified by competitive reverse transcription-PCR
Article Abstract:
Research describes a competitive reverse transcription-PCR method to compare and analyze expression of the leucotoxins and their control by the by global accessory gene regulators agr and staphylococcal accessory regulator sar systems. Data show that the agr, sar, and agr sar mutants depended on the global regulators for leucotoxin expression.

Characterization of a multicopper oxidase gene from Staphylococcus aureus
Article Abstract:
A multicopper oxidase gene from Staphylococcus aureus was cloned and overexpressed. Purified multicopper oxidase the substrate 3,3'-dimethoxybenzidine in the presence of copper.
