Genetic diversity within and among Sinai populations of three Ballota species (Lamiaceae)

Article Abstract:

Genetic diversity within and among Sinai populations of the Ballota species are measured which determines the implications for the conservation of the species. The levels of genetic diversity maintained within populations of the three Ballota species indicate that an appropriate sampling design for ex situ safeguarding should capture the majority of the genetic diversity found within these groups.

Allozyme diversity in Macbridea alba (Lamiaceae)

Article Abstract:

The allozyme diversity and genetic structure of the Macbridea alba, a herbaceous perennial mint, is described. Studies indicate that the perennial life habit of M. alba and long-distance pollination of bumblebees may help maintain the genetic diversity within the species.

High genetic diversity in Sarracenia leucophylla (Sarraceniaceae), a carnivorous wetland herb

Article Abstract:

The genetic diversity in 10 natural populations of Sarracenia leucophylla Raf., a pitcher plant restricted to the southeastern United States, is studied. The role of gene flow in the geographic distribution of genetic diversity within the species is described.
