Research has been conducted on nuclar and mitochondrial genomes in Pinus parviflora. The authors have investigated genetic diversities of these genomes, and they have suggested that differing modes of inheritance may be responsible for the differences in nuclar and mitochondrial genetic diversity.

Research has been conducted on Italian fungi populations of fungal taxa Pleurotus eryngii (DC.:Fr.) Quel and P. ferulae (DC.:Fr.) Quel. The genetic diversity of these populations has been investigated via the use of allozymes and PCR fingerprinting, and the results are reported.
