Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Agave deserti (Agavaceae) complex. The authors describe their studies of genetic differentiation and taxonomic status of the complex with respect to spatial distribution of complex's populationscarried out in the effort to understand the speciation process and evolution within the genus, and report the results.

Inbreeding depression in fecundity and inbred line extinction in the bulb mite, Rhizoglyphus robini

Article Abstract:

Research has been co0nducted on inbreeding depression in fecundity in bulb mite Rhizoglyphus robini. The author suggests that the lack of purging in inbreeding depression may indicate that this depression has been caused either by detrimental genes or by the breaking down of overdominant relations between alleles.
