Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the genetic aspects of the worldwide colonization of Ceratitis capitata using multilocus enzyme electrophoresis information from polymorphic loci. Eighty-two samples of the 17 populations of C. capitata were obtained from different regions. Results indicated that the chronology and historical circuitous generation of the medfly colonization process correlated with changes in the population genetics of the species.

Article Abstract:
Haldane's law states that in interspecific breeds, the heterogametic sex is likely to be rare, sterile or absent. While many theories have been proposed to explain Haldane's law, it is difficult to find a definition that allows for female and male heterogamety. A proposition that sex differences in mammalian hybrids could be caused by interactions between genes which diverged from allele pairs on the X or Y chromosomes is presented.

Article Abstract:
Research shows that sex determination is controlled by a single multiallele locus in Athalia rosae; differences in the rate of diploid males by laboratory random crossing compared to findings in the field are discussed.
