Genetic analysis of 4 new mutants at the unstable k2 Mdh1-n y20 chromosomal region in soybean

Article Abstract:

A study aims to determine the inheritance and allelism of the new tan-saddle mutant found in a bulk harvest of cultivar Kenwood and to test for genetic instability at the k2 Mdh1-n y20 chromosomal region in crosses with cultivars Harosoy and Williams. In the genetic instability test of T239 (k2) with cultivar Williams, three new mutants with yellow foliage (y20) and malate dehydrogenase 1 null (Mdh1-n) were identified, while no new mutants were found in the genetic instability test T261 (k2 Mdh1-n) with cultivar Williams.

Genetic study of a lethal necrosis to soybean mosaic virus in PI 507389 soybean

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on PI 507389 soybean from Japan which has necrotic response to strains G1, G2, G5 and G6 of soybean mosaic virus. The authors have investigated the genetic basis of lethal necrosis via crossing PI 507389 with susceptible and resistant PI 507389 lines, and have reported the results.
