Generating tetracycline-inducible auxotrophy in Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica serovar typhimurium by using an insertion element and a hyperactive transposase
Article Abstract:
The construction and application of a novel insertion element for transposase-mediated mutagenesis in gram-negative bacteria is reported. A description is provided on the construction and efficiency of an insertion element, based on Tn5 in vitro system for obtaining atc-responsive conditional gene knockouts in Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica serovar typhimurium.

Synthesis of N-acyl homoserine lactone analogues reveals strong activators of SdiA, the Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium LuxR homologue
Article Abstract:
The N-acyl homoserine lactone (AHL) and AHL analogues are synthesized and screened in order to determine their activities with LuxR of Vibrio fischeri and SdiA of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium and also understand the specificity of the ligand binding by LuxA homologue, SdiA. The results have shown that SdiA binds its activators reversibly.

Detection of Salmonella spp. in retail raw food samples from Vietnam and characterization of their antibiotic resistance
Article Abstract:
The levels of Salmonella spp. contamination in raw food samples from Vietnam are examined and their antibiotic resistance characteristics are determined. The results have shown that antibiotic resistance is significant in Salmonella spp. in raw food samples from Vietnam.
