Article Abstract:
Partial S-RNase sequences are analyzed from L. parishii and self-incompatibility (SI) is investigated in this species by genotyping 25 individuals from a population in southern Arizona. Estimates of allelic diversity range from 23 to 27 alleies and, consistent with expectations for SI, individuals are heterozygous.

Article Abstract:
The effects of homozygoisty at loci in the area of suppressed recombination around the S-locus in Solanum carolinense are discussed. It is revealed that self-incompatibility was only somewhat overcome by bud pollination, as the total number of seeds produced was lower for incompatible than compatible pollinations.

Article Abstract:
The molecular allelic variation and diversity of the S-allele at the self-incompatibility (SI) locus of Solanum chilense Dun., wild tomatoes of the family Solanaceae, is analyzed. Evidence for adaptive changes and selection in different regions of the molecule is provided.
