Gaia, nature worship and biocentric fallacies

Article Abstract:

The Gaia concept refers to the modern form of the idea that adaptation is symmetrical, with organisms adapting to the environment and the environment adapting to organisms. Arguments are presented to counter this concept, and to further Huxley's position that the universe is basically hostile to human life and values. Examples to support the arguments are presented, including some disadvantages of water as a medium of life, self-destructive behavior of some species at the population level and the environmental extremes to which organisms adapt to. In the final analysis, adaptation appears to be always asymmetrical, with organisms adapting to the environment and never vice versa.

The base nature of Neanderthals

Article Abstract:

The first successful application of aDNA techniques that extracted four hundred bases of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is compared to Neanderthals. Results found that Neanderthal genome identifies the genes to make hominin different from an ape as well as member of Homo sapiens different from other species of hominin.
