Article Abstract:
Cytoskeletal intersections are discussed in this review article. New information from the family of cytoskeletal binding proteins, plakins, is surprising. The family was first identified based on association between intermediate filaments (IFs) and membrane junctions. It may be that, in evolution, genes that encode cytoskeletal linker proteins get bigger and more complex to better coordinate specific dynamics necessary for specialized cells.

Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on GATA-3 which is a regulator of T-cell lineage determination. The hypothesis that GATA-3 orchestrates lineage determination in the skin has been tested via the use of the combination of genetics, biochemistry and cell biology, and the details are presented.

Article Abstract:
Research shows that the spectraplakin family of cytoskeletal crosslinking protein, ACF7, is involved in the microtubule-actin dynamics. Data reveal that ACF7 in endodermal cells binds along microtubules and that in its absence microtubules fail to grow along actin bundles or tether to actin-rich cortical sites.
