Functional expression of the ectoine hydroxylase gene (thpD) from streptomyces chrysomallus in halonomas elongata

Article Abstract:

The formation of hydroxyectoine in the industrial ectoine producer halomonas elongata is improved by the heterologous expression of the ectoine hydroxylase gene, thpD, from streptomyces chrysomallus. The efficient conversion of ectoine to hydroxyectoine is achieved by the concerted regulation of thpD by the H. elongata ectA promoter.

Characterization of the protocatechuic acid catabolic gene cluster from Streptomyces sp. strain 2065

Article Abstract:

Researchers describe the gene complex that codes for protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase in Streptomyces sp. strain 2065. Protocatechuate is one of the branches of the beta-ketoadipate pathway, which is widely conserved among diverse soil microorganisms.
