Article Abstract:
A preliminary study was carried out to examine whether caretaker reports of food insecurity were associated with anxiety and depression among four ethnic groups in two communities of rural Tanzania. The findings indicate that women might use expressions of hunger and food insecurity as a way to express their anxiety and depression which, if any, of the hypothesis is correct has implications for community-based interventions and, for measuring and monitoring food insecurity.

Article Abstract:
The physical growth patterns and function, which includes grip strength, reflexes and pulse rates of "Cape Coloured" urban and rural school children were studied to determine nutritional status. Rural children at postpuberty were found to consistently lie below the standard deviation in matched American data.

The population of 7 rural communities on the Croatian island of Krk shows a positive correlation between genetic and linguistic distances. This finding suggests genetic isolation and indicates probable migration patterns between 1892 and 1940.
