Ferritin heavy chain upregulation by NF-KappaB inhibits TNF alpha-induced apoptosis by suppressing reactive oxygen species

Article Abstract:

A ferritin heavy chain (FHC), the primary iron storage factor, is identified in a study as an essential mediator of the antioxidant and protective activities of NF-KappaB. The antiapoptotic activity of FHC functions to inhibit induction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and, thereby, activation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) by tumor necrosis factor (TNF)alpha.

Accelerated evolution of nervous system genes in the origin of Homo Sapiens

Article Abstract:

The human brain size increases along with the complexities and so tests were conducted, including studies on the diverse aspects of the nervous system biology, to probe the genetic basis of the changes in the brain. These studies concluded that the phenotypic evolution of the human nervous system plays an important role in the evolution of the brain.

Biological control through regulated transcriptional coactivators

Article Abstract:

A substantial component of gene control is directed at the expression of coactivators. Quantitative control of coactivators allows functional integration of multiple transcription factors.
