Research has been conducted on the cellulose digestion and bacterial and fungal numbers. The in vitro cellulose fermentation by rumen contents in the presence and absence of antibiotics is discussed.

Metabolism of fructooligosaccharides by Lactobacillus paracasei 1195

Article Abstract:

Research reveals that fructooligosaccharides of Lactobacillus paracasei 1195 undergo hydrolysis only in cells grown with fructooligosaccharides or sucrose. Glucose, fructose, and sucrose decrease fructooligosaccharide uptake and its transport is inhibited up to 60% in cells treated with metabolic inhibitors and total inhibition by inhibitors of ATP-binding cassette transport systems.
