FACKEL is a sterol C-14 reductase required for organized cell division and expansion in Arabidopsis embryogenesis

Article Abstract:

FACKEL (FK) is a sterol C-14 reductase found to be necessary for organized cell division and expansion in embryogenesis in Arabidopsis. FK has been isolated by positional cloning. Using expression analysis it was found that FK mRNA becomes localized to meristem zones. Synthesis of sterol signals is vital, along with addition of brassinosteroids (BRs), in mediation of regulated cell growth and organization in embryonic development.

Local, efflux-dependent auxin gradients as a common module for plant organ formation

Article Abstract:

Research shows that during organ biogenesis in Arabidopsis, auxin dynamic gradients with maxima at the primordia tips. Results indicate that PIN-dependent, local auxin gradients lead to formation of all diverse plant organs with respect to their morphology and developmental origin.

The Arabidopsis GNOM ARF-GEF mediates endosomal recycling, auxin transport, and auxin-dependent plant growth

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Arabidopsis protein GNOM, a brefeldin A sensitive ARF-GEF. Results demonstrate that GNOM is required for auxin transport component recycling and that ARF-GEFs regulate endosomal trafficking pathways.
