Article Abstract:
The oncogenes GLI, HST and INT2 diverged in primate evolution. To look at the pericentric inversions of human chromosomes 11 and 12, the comparative mapping fluorescence in situ hybridization technique has been used. In this technique, locus-specific DNA probes are employed as phylogenetic markers. Homologous locations for GLI, HST and INT2 proto-oncogenes have been identified in the chimpanzee, gorilla and orangutan, with results confirming a perictric inversion in HSA chromosome 11 and equivalent gorilla and chimpanzee chromosomes.

Article Abstract:
DNA mapping of Salmonella typhimurium LT2 revealed 1,159 genes, with 1,080 located on circular chromosome and 29 on pSLT, a 90-kb plasmid commonly found in strain LT2. DNA lengths between the genes were measured based on the transducing 'phage length' P22. Genomic sequences were determined using StySeq1, a model which contains known sequences of all Salmonella species, while other sequences were determined according to analogy with mapped Escherichia coli sequences.

Article Abstract:
The article describes the "back to basics" approach to form a theoretical framework for sociobiology. It can be achieved by the application of multilevel selection on social behaviors and group selection as an important evolutionary force.
