Evolution of the self-incompatibility system in the Brassicaceae: Identification of S-locus receptor kinase (SRK) in self-incompatible Capsella grandiflora

Article Abstract:

The identification of six putative S-locus receptor kinase genes (SRK) is reported in natural populations of Capsella grandiflora, a self-incompatibility (SI) species from a genus, which is closely related to Arabidopsis. Phylogenic analysis supports the scenario of differing SI evolution along the two lineages, arguing that the ancestral S-locus lacked the S-locus glycoprotein (SLG) gene and that the diversification of S-alleles predates the separation of the two lineages.

Transmission ratio distortion in Arabidopsis lyrata: effects of population divergence and the S-locus

Article Abstract:

Molecular markers unlinked to S-locus were used to investigate transmission ratio distortion in Arabidopsis lyrata population. Intrapopulation crosses of Arabidopsis lyrata did not show transmission ratio distortion at genotypic and zygotic level but at the gametic level they were found more often then expected.

Genome-wide effects of postglacial colonization in Arabidopsis Iyrata

Article Abstract:

High divergence and high variation in variability between the Arabiodopsis Iyrata populations in Europe are detected. They are caused by glaciations and postglacial colonization and can impact the methods of analyzing population differentiation.
