Development of Streptococcus thermophilus lacZ as a reporter gene for Candida albicans
Article Abstract:
Streptococcus thermophilus lacZ has been used as a versatile reporter gene for Candida albicans. It has been shown that beta-galactosidase activity can readily be detected from several C. albicans promoters, given the right growth conditions.

Evidence for a general-purpose genotype in Candida albicans, highly prevalent in multiple geographical regions, patient types and types of infection
Article Abstract:
Evidence for a general-purpose genotype in Candida albicans is discussed. It is quite prevalent in various geographical regions, patient types and infection types. The genotype seems to be a predominant etiological agent of all forms of candidiasis.

A multicopper oxidase gene from Candida albicans: cloning, characterization and disruption
Article Abstract:
A multicopper oxidase gene of the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans is discussed relative to characterization, cloning, and disruption. An open reading frame of 1872 bp on chromosome 6 encodes a predicted protein of 624 amino acids.
