Article Abstract:
The structural changes in Leuconostoc mesenteroides cells as a function of high-hydrostatic pressure treatment was studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission microscopy (TEM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Reduction of intact ribosomeEs was noticed in DSC thermograms possibly due to reduction in the number of viable cells and it was found that inactivation of L.mesenteroides cells occurred due to vibrasomal denaturation.

Article Abstract:
The inhibitory effects of quaternary ammonium silane (QAS) and Biocidal ZF coatings are evaluated against the development of a mixed fungal and bacterial biofilm on silicone rubber tracheoesophageal shunt prostheses in vitro. New strategies are developed for the prevention of microbial colonization of silicone rubber voice prostheses.

Article Abstract:
Colonization of plant roots by a natural isolate of Paenibacillus polymyxa, which has tagged with a plasmid-borne gfp gene, is studied. Fluorescence microscopy and electron scanning microscopy indicated that the bacteria colonized predominantly the root tip, where they formed biofilms.
