Staphylococcal surface display of metal-binding polyhistidyl peptides
Article Abstract:
Researchers have succeeded for the first time in producing recombinant strains of Staphylococcus that display metal-binding polyhistidyl peptides on their surface. These bacteria could be used in bioremediation of heavy metals and could also be used as biosensors.

Fluorescence-activated cell sorting of specific affibody-displaying staphylococci
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Staphylococcus carnosus display system. The autrhors report the use of genetically engineered domains to test the functionality of the display system for the target cell enrichment from the background cell excess via the use of flow cytometry.

Evaluation of staphylococcal cell surface display and flow cytometry for postselectional characterization of affinity proteins in combinatorial protein engineering applications
Article Abstract:
The staphylococcal cell surface display along with flow cytometry is used for the affinity characterization of candidate affibody molecules directly on the cell surface. The results have shown that staphylococcal surface display has many advantages over phase display, not only in the actual selection progress but also in the time-consuming downstream characterization part.
