Evaluation of DNA extraction methods for use in combination with SYBR green I real-time PCR to detect Salmonella enterica serotype Enteritidis in poultry

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Salmonella enterica serotype Enteritidis. The authors describe the method for detecting this bacterium in poultry samples, and report that SYBR green I real-time PCR is an effective detection method.

Comparison of PCR, electrochemical enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, and the standard culture method for detecting Salmonella in meat products

Article Abstract:

Two rapid techniques for detection of salmonella are evaluated. The standard culture method for detection of salmonella in food is rather sensitive and quite inexpensive, but it requires 4-5 days to generate results.
