Article Abstract:
Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) analysis of 16S rRNA amplicons is used for identifying specific bacterial taxa that are associated with the hindgut walls of Dermolepida albohirtum larvae across the geographic range of the species. These universally distributed taxa, including the 'Endomicrobia' and other bacteria associated with the hindgut of Dermolepida albohirtum larvae, have the potential to form vertically transmitted symbiotic associations with these insects.

Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze rRNA gene sequences from the kingdom Korarchaeota and to examine the presence of korarchaeote small-subunit (SSU) rDNA sequences using an altered SSU rDNA sequence as an internal standard. The amount of SSU rDNA sequence in a DNA sample was obtained by coamplifying a modified DNA sample. Results indicated a preferential polymerase chain reaction amplification of the pJP27 SSU rDNA sequences that is a feature of the SSU rDNA sequences.

Article Abstract:
The problem of working with auxotrophic strains is addressed by constructing a transiently disrupted nutritional marker, which can revert to wild type when its role is finished in genetic engineering. The gene pyrG is chosen as the target for transient disruption, the acuB gene is successfully deleted by using a recyclable gene-targeting cassette and subsequently the pryG locus is reverted to wild type.
