Article Abstract:
The effects of long-term storage on the stability of both virulence plasmids (pXO1 and pXO2) are assessed by studying the plasmid profiles of a large collection of Bacillus anthracis isolates that were stored at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from the 1950s through 1980s. There was no significant difference in the proportion of strains containing only pXO1 or strains containing only pXO2, but there was interdependence between the two plasmids.

Article Abstract:
The lysis of phages of Actinomyces naeslundii, important oral bacteria, as a potential diagnostic and therapeutic agent was studied. From partial digestions of Actinomyces naeslundii, phage Av-1 genomic DNA, inserts that complemented the defective Greek small letter lamda holin in pAD330 were cloned by experiments and the DNA inserts in these plasmids revealed that both contained the complete lysis region of Av-1.

Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to develop a temperature-sensitive (TS) shuttle plasmid(s) that is broadly applicable for generating unmarked mutants of Pasteurellaceae species. The mutagenesis, selection, and genetic characterization of three TS replications that are derived from plasmid pD70 (4) of Mannheimia hemolytica are described.
