Article Abstract:
The effects of inoculations of various combinations of the antagonistic species Pseudomonas putida WCS358 and nonpathogenic Fusarium oxysporum Fo47b10 on the development of fusarium wilt on carnations were investigated. The results showed that maximum suppression was achieved when both antagonists were present. However, inoculation of a siderophore-negative mutant of P. putida did not elicit the same suppressive effects even in combination with Fo47b10. These results suggest that pseudobactin production by WCS358 in combination with Fo47b10 are responsible for the increased suppression of fusarium wilt.

Article Abstract:
The increase in the efficacy of the anatagonistic activity of nonpathogenic Fusarium oxysporum Fo47b10 against pathogenic F. oxysporum due to the pseudobactin-mediated competition for iron is discussed. Interactions between nonpathogenic and pathogenic F. oxysporum, the effect of purified pseudobactin 358 on the growth of their growth and anatagonisms were analyzed by an in vitro bioassay. The relevance of iron and copper microbial competition was demonstrated.

Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on pathogenic and nonpathogenic strains of Fusarium oxysporum. The authors describe the infection processes of flax roots inoculated with the strains, and the early plant reactions in response to the nonpathogen and pathogen with cell suspension and and microconidia of F. oxysporum.
