Early pancreatic development requires the vertebrate Suppressor of Hairless (RBPJ) in the PTF1 bHLH complex

Article Abstract:

A study was undertaken to find out whether in early pancreatic development, active PTF1a requires interaction with RBPJ, the vertebrate Suppressor of Hairless. Results showed that interaction between PTF1a RBPJ was important for the early stages of pancreatic growth besides morphogenesis and lineage fate decisions.

A nonclassical bHLH-Rbpj transcription factor complex is required for specification pf GABAergic neurons independent of notch signaling

Article Abstract:

The role of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor Ptfla for specification of the GABAergic neurons is discussed. Results suggest the importance of Ptfla-Rbpj complex for controlling the balanced formation of inhibitory and excitatory neurons in the developing spinal cord.

PRMT6-mediated methylation of R2 in histone H3 antagonizes H3 K4 trimethylation

Article Abstract:

A study identifies PRMT6 as a mammalian methyltransferase for H3 R2 and establishes the enzyme to be a crucial negative regulator of H3 K4 trimethylation and transcriptional activation.
