Article Abstract:
The pivotal role of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) on blood-testis barrier (BTB) dynamics via its effects on the homeostasis of a modified form of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins is reviewed. The novel findings regarding the role of non-basement-membrane-associated ECM proteins and components of focal adhesion in the regulation of junction dynamics in the testis is discussed.
