Dynamic changes in the response of cells to positive hedgehog signaling during mouse limb patterning

Article Abstract:

Studies done to determine the contribution of Hh transcriptional activator function during limb development by identifying and following Hh-responding cells at different stages of embryogenesis, utilizing out inducible genetic fate-mapping strategy and Gli1 as a readout of Hh-positive signaling is reported. The fate mapping studies in Gli mutants show that the early graded Shh-positive signaling is not required to find out the digit code and instead point to a model based almost entirely on the relative level of Gli3R.

Intraflagellar transport particles participate directly in cilium-generated signaling in chlamydomonas

Article Abstract:

A study to understand the role of intraflagellar transport (IFT) in signaling within the flagella of the biflagellated green alga Chlamydomonas is presented. The IFT machinery is required not only for assembling cilia and flagella but also for organizing a signaling pathway within the organelles during cilium-generated signaling.

A beta-catenin identified by functional rather than sequence criteria and its role in Wnt/MAPK signaling

Article Abstract:

Wnt/MAPK signaling is a common variant of Wnt signaling in C. elegans and is implicated in vertebrates. The results suggest that Wnt/MAPK signaling promotes POP-1 export from the nucleus to accommodate the limiting availability of its SYS-1/beta-catenin transcriptional coactivator.
