Drosophila fasciclinll is required for the formation of odor memories and for normal sensitivity to alcohol

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Drosophila fasciclinll (fasII) mutants exhibiting strong sensitivity to the ethanol vapors. The role of FasII in the molecular operations of the encoding short-term odor memories and conferring alcohol sensitivity has been investigated via the use of the behavioral and genetic strategies and the details are presented.

The partner of inscuteable/discs-large complex is required to establish planar polarity during asymmetric cell division in Drosophila

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the frizzed signaling which regulates cell polarity in vertebrates and invertebrates. Planar polarization involving the remodeling of the apical-basal polarity of the sensory precursor cell has been investigated and the results are reported.

The EGF receptor defines domains of cell cycle prgression and survival to regulate cell number in the developing Drosophila eye

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the cells in the developing organisms. Results indicate that the number of cells can be regulated by the cell interactions which control proliferation and survival in the local neighbourhoods in case of the Drosophila compound eye.
